Working in Partnership. Why? Early in my career, I rarely, if ever, heard people at a meeting say, “Let’s work in partnership to get this done.” Now I hear it multiple times, daily. With so much work happening by people buddying up, we became curious why? What are the real reasons people work in informal partnerships and what are the ingredients of a successful partnership? After conducting some initial research, we constructed a survey to dig deeper into the topic. We’d love to hear from you about your experiences of informal partnerships. Our working definition of informal partnerships is: Two or more people who choose to work together in order to achieve a shared goal or outcome. Examples of informal partnerships include: Two or more people from different departments in the same organization who partner together to work on a project. Two or more independent consultants or contractors who partner with each other to write a paper together or brainstorm a new product or client offering. Informal partnerships are not governed by legally binding contracts or agreements. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous. Thanks for completing the survey.
